Important information about color codes
About Pantone® codes
Pantone® is a registered trademark of Pantone LLC. The Pantone codes shown in this tool are mathematical approximations calculated using the CIEDE2000 color distance in the CIELAB color space. They are not officially certified values by Pantone LLC. For professional work requiring exact precision, consult the official Pantone guides.
About RAL® codes
RAL® is a registered trademark of RAL gemeinnützige GmbH. The RAL codes shown are approximations based on publicly known RGB conversions. Values may vary from official physical samples. For industrial or professional use, consult the official RAL catalogs.
Mixing accuracy
Color mixes are calculated using the Kubelka-Munk pigment simulation model, which models light absorption and scattering. While this model provides significantly more realistic results than simple RGB interpolation, no digital algorithm can exactly replicate the behavior of real physical pigments. Factors such as paint brand, surface type, layer thickness, and lighting conditions affect the final result.
Recommended use
This tool is designed as a reference guide for artists, designers, students, and hobbyists. For work where color accuracy is critical (offset printing, industrial painting, signage), we always recommend verifying with physical samples.
